Rúben Dias is a portuguese composer, photographer, and researcher whose work explores the relationship between music and photography. He completed his Master's degree in Composition at ESMAE in Porto with a research project titled "Ser-se nuvem: para uma relação entre música e fotografia", supervised by Rui Penha.

He studied with Carlos Azevedo, Dimitris Andrikopoulos, and Ângela da Ponte. He is one of the composers selected for the third edition of the Contemporary Opera Creation Laboratory of Inestética and was a research fellow in the Synth - Sintetizador Espacial project, where he premiered "Production [...]" for piano, E-Bows, and live electronics at Teatro Helena Sá e Costa in Porto.

As a performer, he frequently participates in concerts as an improviser, particularly of electronic music. He co-founded the group RUMOR with fellow composers to create and perform contemporary music. Currently, he is pursuing a Master's degree in Music Teaching, specialization in Composition, at ESML with Luís Tinoco.
